Sterling Girls Softball Association, a member of the Wachusett Softball Association, offers spring softball to Sterling and Princeton girls in 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U age groups.8U Division Softball
The 8U division is an entry level organized instructional softball. Games are played against the neighboring towns in the WSA. Coaches pitch in this league and are allowed on the field to interact. Games are four-six innings limited by time and played twice per week with one practice. Additional practices and/or make-up games are occasionally required.
11" Softie Softballs are used.Grade: Current school year Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade
Ages: 5-8
10U Division Softball
The 10U division is a more advanced organized league yet still entry level. Games are played against the neighboring towns in the WSA. Players pitch in this league and coaches have some limited on field interaction. Games are six innings limited by time and played typically twice per week with one practice. Additional practices and/or make-up games are occasionally required.
11" Hard Softballs are used.Grade: Current school year 3rd, 4th & 5th grade
Ages: 9-10
12U Division Softball
The 12U division is for higher skill level players and is more competitive than the 10U division. Games are played against the neighboring towns in the WSA. Players pitch in this league and coaches have no on field interaction. Games are six innings limited by time and played typically twice per week with one practice. Additional practices and/or make-up games should be expected. 12" Hard Softballs are used.
Grade: Current school year 6th & 7th grade
Ages: 11-12
14U Division Softball
The 14U division is for higher skill level players and is more competitive than the 12U division. Games are played against the neighboring towns in the WSA. Games are six innings and played two or more times per week with additional practices. Additional practices and/or make-up games should be expected.
12" Hard Softballs are used.Grade: Current school year 8th & 9th grade

NEW JUNIOR OLYMPIC (YOUTH) AGE QUALIFICATIONS BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 1, 2023 Junior Olympic (YOUTH) Age Qualifications (AS OF 9/1/2023)
A player’s age as of August 31 determines the age in which the player is eligible to play the following year.
10-Under Age Classification.
A player whose 11th birthday is prior to September 1, 2023, is INELIGIBLE.
12-Under Age Classification.
A player whose 13th birthday is prior to September 1, 2023, is INELIGIBLE.
14-Under Age Classification.
A player whose 15th birthday is prior to September 1, 2023, is INELIGIBLE.
